SkiWelt, situated in the Wilder Kaiser mountain chains, offers together 279 km ski slopes and 91 lifts. This ski area can be reached from eight towns: Brixen im Thale, Ellmau, Going, Hopfgarten - Kelchsau, Itter, Scheffau, Soell and Westendorf. In SkieWelt there are also schools, which offer flights with paragliders, wintern hiking routes as well as routes for cross-country skiing.
Apart from the opening on 3.12., there is going to be weekend dedicated to events on the occasion of the beginning of the winter season 2011/2012. On Friday will be held party with live music, which will start in Hoechsoell and afterwards will move to the centre of Soell. On Saturday, in Ellmau, there will be possibility to take part in free ski testing, while in the evening in the next and the biggest ski party in Tirol, Soell. The next events are Sunday brunch: Tyrolean “headache cure” and Christmas market in Ellmau.
